Description
“A class that helps improvisers better understand and work with their anxiety” -Suzi Barrett, Yes Also Podcast Improv makes every performer a little anxious. But sometimes that anxiety can overwhelm you, take you out of the moment, and make it difficult to have fun on stage. In this workshop we will learn about the function of anxiety and tools to manage it in the context of improv with Clinical Psychologist Dr. Amanda Cassil. We will then put those tools to work with targeted improv exercises from Improv Teacher Ben Cassil. By the end of the workshop, you will have a set of anxiety management tools uniquely tailored for improv, and experience in utilizing those tools on stage. INSTRUCTORS: Ben Cassil and Dr. Amanda Cassil Dr. Amanda Cassil (she/her) is a Clinical Psychologist and the founder of STEM Psychological Services. She is the author of The Empowered Highly Sensitive Person and The Self-Care Plan for the Highly Sensitive Person, and host of the podcast Practicing Failure. Ben Cassil (he/him) is an improv instructor, coach, and performer. He has been improvising for 14 years, with training from WE Improv and UCB. You can see Ben perform with the WE Improv House Team Cosmo, Improvised Movie team Hot Set at the Shared Experience Studio, Trans-Atlantic team SIPS, and hear him on his improvised podcast Live From the Big Apple.
