KIDS EXPERIENCE

We don’t just have classes for adults. We also teach classes for kids! Improv not only provides
children with a creative outlet, it also helps them build confidence, collaboration and social
skills while teaching them to tap into their creative side! Our kids’ classes and camps are
taught by Karen, Meg and Molly, three teachers who have years of experience working with
children. Check out our upcoming summer camps!

CAMP IMAGINATION (Ages 6-8)

June 29- July 3, 9:00-12:00

Friends and Family Demo: 11:30 Friday, July 3.
$195

Younger kids will explore their imaginations in this fun, beginner-friendly
introduction to improv, acting, and storytelling. Through a mix of group
games and individual activities, students build teamwork skills,
confidence, and their own unique creative voices. Campers learn to
collaborate, take creative risks, and bring stories to life in a supportive
environment. The camp culminates in a special demo performance for
invited friends and family.

creativity, and confidence. The camp culminates in a comedy improv
show for invited friends and family.

Meet the Teachers

KAREN BAUGHN has been teaching theater to kids in Los Angeles for nearly 20 years. She trained at Occidental’s Summer Institute of Fun, where she now serves as Head Teacher, helping guide and mentor the next generation of educators.

Karen is also a teaching artist with Shakespeare Kids where she teaches classes in improv, stage combat, scene study, and commercial acting. She is also the drama director at A Time for Dance, directing a whopping eight casts in for the spring musical!

She loves working with students of all ages—whether it’s her young performers, her college students at the American Music and Dramatic Academy and Pasadena Community College, or her enthusiastic Lifelong Learners at Glendale Community College.

Karen’s students have described her as smart, warm, funny, and “like McGonagall and Hagrid combined.” She can’t wait to work with you!

MOLLY DOAN has been teaching improv, sketch, and theater arts to children & teens for the past decade.

By day, they travel to schools across Southern California with The LA Troupe: Theatre in Education, teaching workshops on classic plays & works of fiction, along with performing Fire & Burn Safety Shows in partnership with The Los Angeles Fire Department and Children’s Burn Foundation (if you get a burn put it in cool, not cold, water for at least 20 mins. It can make all the difference!).

They’re also presently collaborating with K-8 charter schools to create and teach educational in-school residencies, after school programs, and workshops teaching improv, sketch writing, and classical theater & literature, both online and in-person.

Molly loves teaching children of all ages and has been praised for their teaching style that offers a safe, joyful, and nurturing environment that encourages shy students to come out of their shell and hammy students to focus their theatrical energy. Since we are currently living in an age of technology and lack of connection, Molly is passionate about creating safe spaces where children can connect, create, and collaborate together.
